Japanese restaurant Tanoshi’s back-alley Osaka-style dining in central Queenstown is coming to the city’s Five Mile shopping centre in early December. The word ‘Tanoshi’ means ‘fun’ and that’s certainly what you’ll get at this tapas-style spot with shared dishes and traditional cuisine from the teppan grill. The Gin Garden

Queenstown’s first boutique gin tasting room, the Gin Garden in Arthurs Point, is proving a drawcard for thirsty punters. It showcases 12 award-winning drops from local distillery Broken Heart Spirits, an Oktoberfest-inspired lager and locally-sourced, seasonal food. Groups can pre-book a tasting room for hosted sessions or sample cocktails such as Broken Heart’s gin, vodka, rum, whisky and liqueurs. Cheers! See: brokenheartspirits.com/gin-garden
